Alberta Official Provincial Flower - Wild Rose

This is the Wild Rose, or Prickly Rose (Rosa acicularis). The wild rose was chosen in the Floral Emblem Act of 1930. They are a popular food for people and wildlife; fruit, stem and foliage are all eaten by wildlife.
